Business Management is making sure that the right resources are available in the right quantity for the right price at the right place with the right data and in the right shape. The Team Lead Facility & Indirect Procurement Specialist is responsible for the daily Facility operations and leads sourcing activities for indirect spend categories with the goal of achieving significant cost reductions while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels. The individual works closely with key stakeholders within KDEM-G to support the creation of effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. The Team Lead and Indirect Procurement Specialist manages, plans, prioritises and executes the purchasing activities in a continuous search for better deals and finding the most suitable suppliers.

 

What you will be doing

Team Lead Facilities

  • Being the first point of contact for the Facility team and being the main point of contact to the Senior Manager of Business Management regarding business updates.
  • Together with the Senior Manager of Business Management, implement the defined strategy and accordingly define team objectives.
  • Constantly and consistently review the team’s processes to identify areas of improvement and ensure these are being addressed internally.
  • Responsible for the performance management cycle of direct reports

 

Supplier Management

  • Responsible for sourcing and managing around 30 suppliers/year
  • Lead vendor selection processes and contract negotiation
  • Maintain a suitable contract management system with the support of Expert Business Management
  • Search alternative local and overseas vendors for future requirements
  • Reporting on Purchase volumes by supplier

 

Price negotiations

  • Assess corporate current and future needs, assess market trends and supply base
  • Actively lead the preparation of offers and tenders
  • Obtain quotations and compile cost comparisons
  • Identify and target attractive spending areas for review
  • Reporting on the development of cost savings

 

KDEM Facility Operations

Support the Senior Manager of Business Management in maintaining and updating the facility-related policy and procedure. The Team Lead Facility & Indirect Procurement Specialist works closely with the Expert Facility Service to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment by managing building maintenance, office supplies, workspace organisation, car fleet management and vendor relationships. The Facility Services team plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations, coordinating repairs, optimising space usage, and implementing health and safety protocols to enhance productivity and comfort across the organisation. When required, you will support the team by being operationally active.

What do we expect from you?

  • HBO education
  • NEVI 1 or equivalent education
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in purchasing
  • Experience working in an international environment is advantageous
  • Good knowledge of Project Management
  • Good Presentation skills
  • Good knowledge of process improvement methods
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Advanced knowledge of the Dutch and English languages
