Manager Supply Chain Planning & Procurement

The Manager Supply Chain Planning (MSCP) leads the Sales & Operations Planning cycles of the Kyocera Document Solutions Europe Management Group (KDEM-G) to achieve cross-functional focus, alignment, and synchronization of an integrated operating plan to achieve business, financial & commercial targets. This role requires strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and meet customer demands.
 

What will you be doing?

As the functional lead of the supply & procurement planners, the MSCP is responsible for creating the operational plan and making decisions that impact the Supply Plan to meet KDEM-G customer demand. Acting as the link between the Supply Chain Management (SCM) department and other divisions, the MSCP has experience with Demand Plan creation for Finished Goods (FG) and Spare Parts (SP) and can overlay Supply Planning principles. The MSCP will support team members in performing demand analysis and driving forecast accuracy through proven demand planning techniques including statistical modelling, consumption/consignment analysis, events management (e.g. launches & promotions) and collaborative planning & replenishment processes.

The MSCP supports the EMEA Supply Chain Strategy of KDEM-G in the following areas: SCM Project Portfolio management, SCM Continuous Improvement, SCM process design/implementation and Business Intelligence & Analytics.
 

BUSINESS STRATEGY AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT

  • Independently define FG / SP inventory strategy and implement policies based on established supply chain techniques: inventory ABC stratification, postponement strategy and control parameters e.g. minimum order quantity, replenishment order point and safety stock level
  • Review, develop and maintain the procurement & inventory operations plan, containing department strategy, goals and tasks that must be undertaken by the department, including team member roles & responsibilities
  • Define, control and monitor: Actively shape the digital roadmap for Supply Chain Planning as well as the internal (financial) communication about supply planning & purchasing KPIs
  • Collaborating with KDEM-G divisions to understand Supply Chain Infrastructure requirements (including IT) to design E2E Supply Chain / S&OP solutions
  • Support the Supply Chain Operations Manager in preparing and executing monthly/weekly S&OE cycle
     

MANAGEMENT ROLE

  • Oversee demand forecasting, inventory planning, and production scheduling to ensure timely product availability
  • Analyse historical sales data, market trends, and customer demand to advise sales on consolidated forecasts
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless operations
  • Lead the team of Supply & Procurement Planners to develop effective supply plans, to meet customer demand in line with KDEM-G's strategic direction
  • Coach and motivate the Supply & Procurement Planning team, by providing support on the team and individual level
  • Accountable for compliance with internal controls of inventory procurement, movement and the related transactions and accountings including stock counts & reconciliation across the supply chain

 

SOFTWARE IMPLEMENTATION AND IMPROVEMENT

  • Guide business teams in requirements definition for demand & supply planning software
  • Utilize experience to enhance Oracle DM and SP software utilization; explore new developments and systems capabilities (e.g. AI)
  • Responsible for documenting business requirements for demand & supply planning software configuration design, test and implementation
  • Act as business lead for communication with software providers and implementation consultants
     

COMMUNICATION (ALIGNING VECTORS)

  • Interact with Sales and Marketing divisions, as well as local Sales Companies to understand demand forecast drivers
  • Control supply replenishment needs based on demand and forecast, liaising with Sales Support teams
  • Able to represent the General Manager SCM during S&OP meetings and able to lead S&OP meetings, not limited to Supply & Procurement planning
  • Optimize communication with other KDEM-G divisions; collaborating with all levels within KDEM-G to understand and align on consolidated demand forecast, supply plan, priorities and actions
     

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT AND DATA GOVERNANCE

  • Ensure accurate supply chain parameters and data in related enterprise resource and supply chain planning systems
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, review sales forecast data, develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results to ensure stock availability
  • Perform and execute demand forecast verification & challenge, review relevant market intelligence, forecast quality metrics review and monitor supply chain parameter settings when required
  • Lead inventory analysis and drive reduction of excess, ageing & obsolete stock
  • Identify and address inefficiencies in the supply chain planning process.
  • Leverage data analytics and supply chain technologies to enhance decision-making and streamline operations
  • Create and present monthly Supply Planning management report

Your knowledge and Skills

  • Master’s Degree, ideally in Supply Chain Management
  • 7+ years of work experience in Supply Chain Planning roles at management level
  • Demand & Supply planning system knowledge (for example SAP IBP or Oracle)
  • ERP system knowledge, related to sales and distribution (SAP module or equivalent)
  • Excellent understanding of the English language, spoken and written. Knowledge of other languages would be appreciated
  • Proven experience with BSC, SLAs and KPI’s
  • Clear, concise and confident speaker
  • Advanced certification in Professional Forecasting & Demand Planning is a plus
  • APICS preferred certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus
