The Facility Services Intern supports the Expert Facility Services. They are the primary point of contact for all facility-related matters and building management maintenance within the organisation. This role requires a hands-on, proactive student who ensures the smooth operation, maintenance, and appearance of the building and its facilities. As the frontline representative of Facility Services, the intern plays a key role in creating a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming work environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of the building, installations, and furnishings
- Perform minor repairs (e.g. replacing lights, painting, fixing furniture)
- Identify technical issues and coordinate with external suppliers for resolution
- Monitor and maintain the functionality of technical systems and control panels
- Respond promptly to defects, outages, and alarms
- Maintain coffee machines and multifunctional printers (MFPs), including basic troubleshooting
- Manage office access systems (keys and badges)
- Maintain the stock in the office including facility supplies
- Coordinate mail, parcel delivery, and courier services
- Organise and support internal moves and floor planning
- Support the Expert Facility Service with the execution of internal moves
- Support the Expert Facility service with the reservation systems for meeting rooms, pool vehicles, and access cards
- Track and manage fixed assets inventory
- Contribute to facility-related projects and activities
- Check the performance of outsourced service providers (cleaning, catering, security, waste/recycling) and escalate any problems to the Expert Facility Service.
- Act as the main contact for all facility-related external vendors
- Support expert facility service to manage KDNL facility service based on the service level agreement.
- Support coordination between KDNL and vendors.
- Manage Kyocera company apartments: coordinate arrivals, departures, cleaning, and maintenance
- Support expats with housing arrangements and relocation processes
- Coordinate maintenance, cleaning, and fueling of pool cars and the company van
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy working environment
- Support compliance with internal Health & Safety Environment (HSE) policies and standards
- MBO education student, Facility-related study
- Familiarity with household and office equipment
- Fluent in both Dutch and English (spoken and written)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license
- Flexible to be on-site outside of regular office hours in case of events or emergencies
- Strong organizational and planning skills
