Each person adds their skills and experiences to the team and what better place to do so than in Kyocera! Want to know what the average day of an Export Control – GRC Officer looks like? Read on!
When you start, your first focus will be on ensuring that our international trade operations are in compliance with export control regulations and Kyocera’s policies and you will support Business Management by reviewing important proposed decisions and check these are in line with Kyocera's internal policies and procedures. When you are up to speed with these processes you will put more focus on becoming a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Account Manager. You will guide assigned Sales Offices across the EMEA region and ensure they operate with an excellent level of internal control. If these aspects speak to you, what a fit this could be!
In cooperation with the (deputy) Chief Export Control Officer (CECO) you hold regional export control and sanctions responsibility for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Russian region. You ensure that controlled products are recognized, trading partners and upcoming shipments are screened and licenses are applied for. Together with the Manager of Business Management, you support operations about decision making including the proper handling and documentation of these decisions. To perform these tasks you will make use of our internal tool called ‘Ringi’. Last but not least you review the state of internal control for selected Sales Offices, prevent audit deficiencies and develop improvement plans with support of the Manager's Governance, Risk & Compliance.
Your main responsibilities include the following:
Export Control Compliance
You will be responsible for assessing the possibilities for compliant product export to support new business opportunities in complicated risk areas. While screening sales transactions daily in the SAP-AEB system against Denied Parties, Dual-Use Materials and Sanctions you follow the Export Control Compliance Program. When you find a (suspected) match, you immediately report this to the CECO. You advise Management on export control compliance issues based on the legal compliance framework as well as our internal principles and values. One of your goals is to maintain our Authorization Economic Operator (AEO) certification and support audits/custom queries. Furthermore, you maintain the KDE Export Control Compliance Program including keeping policies & procedures documentation up to date. On a monthly base, you will report to the CECO and develop/advise on risk measures where needed. You will perform these activities while staying up to date on export control (sanction) legislation and being aware of the KYOCERA Philosophy principles.
Business Management Operations
Supporting the Manager Business Management you will act as Ringi controller. You will provide ongoing support, review proposed decisions based on the RINGI criteria chart and ensure proper handling and documentation of these decisions within the company. Furthermore, you keep the Signature Authorization Policy & Procedure up to date as well as the system DocuSign. Keeping the Contract Management system EFFACTS up to date for the Finance, Accounting & Control Division is also one of your responsibilities.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
As GRC Account Manager you assure the timely review of policies & procedures. In case of changes, you also make sure they are approved by management and retained in a central repository. Performing periodic Internal Control checks both remote and on-site checks in assigned Sales Companies within KDE-Group is also one of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you assess whether controls, policies and procedures are operating effectively and if actions are in place to address emerging risks and incidents. Maintaining a good level of control to meet audit standards is very important as well as timely responding to issues by developing and executing a remediation plan. You also assist in collaborating with service providers, Internal Audit and External Audit to oversee control systems that prevent/detect violations of policies and regulations.
You are the type of individual who is proactive, control-minded, solution-oriented and can capture the essence of matters. You have excellent advising skills and a talent to tailor your message, be it on project- or management team level. You are a true team player but can work highly independently at the same time. You will further describe yourself as organized, accurate, pragmatic, and self-confident with good influential skills.
Our competitive salary package, bonus plan and additional employee incentives will certainly reward you well for your new role, but nothing can beat working in an environment with great colleagues where you are empowered and can develop yourself.
